Fishing report for December 8th 2025
Crystal River - Citrus, FL
The cold front has finally settled in, and the fish are sliding into their winter patterns. Action has been steady, with plenty of bites in the wintering holes around the river mouths. Shrimp and soft plastics have been the go-to baits, producing consistent catches that should continue through the remainder of the season. • Sea Trout: The bite is 🔥 right now, especially in the creeks and flats. • Redfish: Schooling up in calm pockets along the mangroves, offering great opportunities for sight casting. • Mackerel: Still hanging around in good numbers, but expect them to push offshore as winter deepens. • Sheepshead: Beginning their migration to nearshore reefs and rocky structure, setting up for prime winter action. It’s shaping up to be a classic winter fishery—steady bites, cooler weather, and plenty of variety for anglers looking to bend a rod.
